Hi Folks,

Just to let you know - we have introduced a new chat system which will be replacing the one we have been using for the past couple of days.

We have to pay for the new chat service but it offers much better functionality and will hopefully remove some of the issues members experienced with the old one.

The new system has a full page view which you can run in a tab. You can access the chat rooms from there and also chat privately with other members.

We have also gone for the video option so members with cams can make use of them in the chat system. Any budding Truth Gurus out there are welcome to put on a show. :) The cams can be used for public or private chat sessions.

You can also play games with other members as well as some other features.

Here is the Users Manual :right: FCChat Manual.

We welcome any feedback.

Please report any issues you have with the chat system - please give your browser and OS details as well as the version numbers.

We hope you enjoy the new improved chat system. :)

Yes, we've used this before at the other joint. The video part is optional.

Again, optional.

It's not seeing your face that we are worried about, so what use is the bucket? Is a large pot plant really necessary? Hummm don't answer that! :nilly:

If it says OFF then it is actually turned on and if it's says ON it's OFF. The word indicates the state it will change to.

If you click on your name in the list it will give you some options that you can set for Status etc.

There is a manual available for the chat system here :right: FCChat Manual there is also a help button in the chat systems. Go to Full Screen Mode >> Options section, which you can access by clicking on the >> Blue Cog icon.in the right hand column below the available users panel. At the bottom of the popup screen you will see the help button.

We are actually using Version 3 of the chat system. There is no manual available for V3 at this time most things should be explained in the V2 manual.

If you click on the items in the contents section at the top of the manual it will jump to the relevant section of the page.

We haven't implemented all the available options at this time...for example the split screen isn't functional currently available. Most of the regular features and functions should work as expected for normal use.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask for help.

When you look at who is online and see the user names, sometimes underneath a name it says "idle".
Is that a value judgment ? :ponda:

'Idle' displays when the chat picks up that the user hasnt navigated / moved on the page for a certain amount of time... that is all that is. :hahano:

Im not sure what the time span for displaying 'idle' is though at this point... its probably in the manual that i havent read. :coffee:

We've enabled chat for guests just now.

So people without a site account can enter the chatrooms. Guests are assigned a random username by default.

A nickname can be added by guests if they wish, and this will display next to their assigned username in the 'Who's online' box.

You could start an "I will be in the chat at X o'clock until X o'clock" thread and then people can let others know they are about in there.

Mind you don't get trampled by the stampede rushing to join you. :cool2:
