This picture is a good metaphor for capitalism. I originally got the photo out of a Hustler magazine back in the early 80's. It originally said "Polish Rowing Team." But I find it works best as a metaphor for capitalism. Now imagine the guy doing the rowing as an average guy without a college degree. (Which most people are) Then consider these as being those who would be holding the megaphones.
1. Your wife (though there is no woman amongst them) who wants you to earn more money to keep up with the Joneses. Or live like the modern day aristocrats do on TV.
2. Your boss.
3. The banker you owe money to.
4. Your neighbors who want you to keep your yard as presentable as possible.
5. The oil companies that you have to buy gasoline from. Etc. etc. etc.
