Government admits it mistakenly included a law that threatens to jail for life anyone who has called for the abolition of the monarchy on a list of recently repealed offences

The government has confirmed that republicanism is still punishable by life imprisonment and that it remains illegal to even 'imagine' overthrowing the Queen.

The revelation comes as the Ministry of Justice embarrassingly admitted that a law threatening to jail for life anyone who has called for the abolition of the monarchy had been mistakenly included on a list of 309 offences due to be repealed before May.

Although the law has not been used to prosecute anyone since 1879, it means that it is still theoretically possible to imprison for life anybody who even so much as "imagines" overthrowing the Crown or waging war against the Queen.

Yesterday, it emerged “being an incorrigible rogue”, under the Vagrancy Act 1824, had also been repealed.

A total of 327 criminal offences were also created in the year to May, a 12% increase compared with the previous 12 months.

Police warned keep their hands of Queen Elizabeth's nuts (NBC News)
LONDON - British police guarding Queen Elizabeth were told to “keep their sticky fingers out” of nuts laid out for guests around Buckingham Palace because the monarch was irked about how many they were eating, a London court heard Thursday.
A memo was circulated to officers telling them to rein in their consumption because the monarch was miffed about the amount taken before the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, a jury at London's Old Bailey, the main criminal court, was told.
The revelations emerged at the trial of former top editors at Rupert Murdoch’s now-defunct News of the World tabloid. They have been charged with phone hacking and other illegal activities, including the payment of public officials.

I heard it reported (radio 4) she was so miffed about security, nibbling her edible substances, she went around marking on the bowls the depth of nuts they contained.'You don't stay rich by giving it away' as the actress said to the bishop.

She doesn't sound like a people person really :chuckle: Why even leave loads of nuts lying around if not to share them? It sounds a bit odd. God knows what would happen if she found one with ones hand in a bowl and ones cheeks bulging munching away on her nuts.

I think that if anyone was imprisoned for life in this day and age, in our modern and tolerant western society, for having certain opinions and thoughts... well surely there would be hell to pay :chuckle: I'm not sure the people would accept such an outmoded and draconian response, but you never know, as long as they've got the telly and the soaps and that :hahano:

It's not the old days :chuckle:

Privy

The Queen as commander in chief of the armed forced of the UK/Canada/Australia...Gives the orders for things like the Invasion of Iraq in 2003...From the advice of her closest advisers...the privy council.

Tony Blair as Bush's poodle...Is just a story for peasant consumption...

Dr Henry Kissinger

A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, leading Bilderberger and head of Kissinger Associates (with Lord Carrington), Henry Kissinger is also connected with the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA), the Chase Manhattan Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation, and is international advisor to the Hollinger Group. He is also a member of the Alpine Freemasons Lodge in Switzerland and was possibly a leading figure in P2.

Chatham House, also known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in London whose mission is to analyse and promote the understanding of major international issues and current affairs. It is regarded as one of the world's leading organizations in this area. It takes its name from its premises, an 18th century house in St. James's Square designed in part by Henry Flitcroft and once occupied by the British Prime Minister William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham (The Council on Foreign Relations is its American sister institute)

Chatham House is the origin of the confidentiality rule known as the Chatham House Rule, which provides that members attending a seminar may discuss the results of the seminar in the outside world, but may not discuss who attended or what they said.

Hey if your memories are not shot by the 24/7 multi billion dollar mind blast machine...Remember this back in 2002?

Bush names Kissinger to head 9/11 probe
Bush: 'Follow all the facts, wherever they lead'
Friday, November 29, 2002 Posted: 10:43 AM EST (1543 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Wednesday named former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger to lead an independent panel to investigate U.S. intelligence failures before the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"This investigation should carefully examine all the evidence and follow all the facts, wherever they lead," said Bush, whose administration initially opposed the commission.

"We must uncover every detail and learn every lesson of September the 11th," Bush said.

Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council is a body of advisors to the British Sovereign. The Sovereign, when acting on the Council's advice, is known as the King-in-Council or Queen-in-Council. The members of the Council are collectively known as The Lords of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council (sometimes The Lords and others of...). The chief officer of the body is the Lord President of the Council, who is the fourth highest Great Officer of State, a member of the Cabinet, and normally, the Leader of either the House of Lords or the House of Commons. Another important official is the Clerk, whose signature is appended to all orders made in the Council. like this one

The Most Noble Order of the Garter is an English order of chivalry with a history stretching back to mediæval times; today it is the world's oldest national order of knighthood in continuous existence and the pinnacle of the British honours system. Its membership is extremely limited, consisting of the Sovereign and not more than twenty-five full members. The monarch of the United Kingdom is known as the "Sovereign of the Garter" and the Prince of Wales is known as a "Knight Companion of the Garter."

Yet nothing was done when David Icke, during his attempts at being elected a few years ago, stated that the queen had a face like a slapped arse.

Of course, you don't lock up those in your employ when they are doing as instructed. ;)
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into.

When paired opposites define your beliefs, your beliefs will imprison you.
