In Holland, due to having water everywhere as most of the country is below sea-level, we have a lot of 'houseboats' which are actually quite nice:

Houseboat Devil's Advocate here.
I remember reading somewhere...
" To experience what life is like owning a houseboat from the comfort of your own home simply stand fully clothed under a cold shower whilst tearing up fifty-pound notes and flushing the pieces down the plughole."

Personally I dont like Tiny Houses

To me it stinks of making our dreams smaller and smaller until they vanish entirely

I dont want to look at barren old ladies living in vans either , it doesnt look like a good thing to be promoting to me

Lesbian shag wagons or something its gross

Sorry to interrupt

On the other hand it could free at least some people from living under oppressive mortgages at 100% interest from the banks. It could free up people from being under such pressure to pay bills that they can't afford to pay at jobs that they hate.

Proceed.

I remember the good old days, when 90+ year olds in nursing homes lived forever. Darn this pesky virus.

It could but working in the construction industry ive noticed this.past few years the.permits.for single.family.dwellings go down.compared.to.high rise apartments and one bedrooms go way up

We are.being encouraged to live in ever smaller places and thats being reflected in zoning and construction permits

So often what is at first suggested to us as voluntary and cool.ends.up.mandatory and bad for us

I just want my sons to think of the world as their.oyster if they.work hard and play fair out there

I cant imagine telling them they should go out and better themselves only to end up.living in a shitty.old.camper van getting pestered by fat chicks in berkenstocks

If anybody says No they are either lying or have lost their libido

Some of us are better at controlling our urges than others

But we still get them

I dont think its anything to be ashamed of

The Homes For Heroes Foundation is an Alberta-based charity that builds clusters of tiny homes for veterans.

The idea is to house 15 to 25 veterans in a village of tiny homes (under 300 square feet, but with all the amenities of a normal home) on one property, with support staff on site.

The veterans pay rent based on their income, typically from Veterans Affairs, and get the support to transition back into civilian life, get a full-time job and move into their own more permanent home.

“Our goal is to end the issue of veteran homelessness,” Homes for Heroes co-founder Dave Howard said in an interview Wednesday.

“We have, we believe, over 5,000 veterans experiencing homelessness — and that might be from couch-surfing or living rough to living in the streets — across the country, and we believe we have a solution to eliminate that.”

So far, it’s working.

Less than a year ago, Homes for Heroes opened its first village of tiny homes in Calgary. Now, three tenants have “graduated” from the program.

“We expected the average time for tenants to be in would be a couple of years. There’s no set time for when they need to leave the village. The idea is that they’re ready to go and they’re back on their feet,” Howard said.

“We’re not even a year in and we’ve got three graduates. When I say graduates, it’s vets that came in and they were living hard and rough or on the street, they had some things they needed to work with, but they’ve gotten back on their feet, they’re working full time, they’ve found a permanent residence, they’ve moved out, and now they’re the mentor for the next that’s moved in. We’re thrilled by that.”
