Listen to this; this is what the BBC is prepared to admit to.

If anybody can find links to the underground rail-road, please put up links just in case somebody in need finds this.

Oh my, that's sad
Won't go into it too much but I was in care all my childhood, the fostering was the worst. When my first child was born he was put up for adoption, I wasn't coping because I was basically on my own - just a few friends who couldn't really help me. I did get him back though. There was a three month period back then before the adoption was finalised and I got him back. So sorry you had to do what you did, the ultimate sacrifice.

Single parents are so vulnerable if they don't have good solid support from family or loved ones. It's a piece of cake for the authorities to take their children. I'd say it's far far worse now than it was 30 odd years ago, but single parents a generation before mine were being put in prison. Things change but they don't necessarily get better. Money is king now :(

and you are very right about the situation getting worse...its childs play literally for the authorities to step in like the gestapo and take children on a whim

Dunno Wildhorse, but I try :chuckle:

It sickens me, the stuff that goes on, on our own doorstep and there is little we can do about it x

I have friends that have had their son taken from them and a forced adoption take place. It destroyed them. They try to fill their days. Long empty days, the best they can.

That's terrible. :(

But tell them this: in a few years time, their son WILL coming looking for them again, and he will get to hear what went on; and they will get the chance to repair the damages .... and when that day dawns, all the badness will be over in one go.
