Has anybody noticed how incredibly warm it is today?..sure its wet but I've been out today and its like a million degrees. Although it might be because I'm wearing my special vodka glow which is akin to the ready brek one.

Yeah it is simply not cold this winter. Where are the crisp cold mornings? The frosty pavements? The rock hard soil?

I don't know, speccles - and I don't care either. As long as it stays this way, I'm happy. :D I've been "thanking" November and December for their "kindness" this far: how many old, homeless and poor people have NOT died of hypothermia because of it?

:notworthy:

No one in modern, so called civilised society should die of hypothermia as a result of old age, homelessness, etc. It just shows where we are as a species when we have to rely on the weather to not kill the less fortunate, rather than create a society where needless deaths can't happen.
Meanwhile Cameron has recently visited Kent to show concern about and "survey" the flood damage, what about the damage caused by the so called "austerity measures"?
Swings and roundabouts really... if it's not one thing it's the other.

Count your blessings.

After that endless and incessantly boiling summer we had here I was really looking forward to crisp cold days and snuggling up with hot water bottles at night, and so I'm really pissed off that there's been no winter so far

I haven't had the heating on. I always leave a window open anyway. And yet the other night I was laying on top of the bed (naked, I always sleep naked) with just a sheet over me. And earlier in December it was 17c here. SEVENTEEN!!!

As for Cameron coming to Kent, him and especially Boris Johnson can get out and never come back. With their desire to wreck environmentally protected land/RSPB reserve with a fucking airport. Then in the same breath lecture us about "spending cuts" and "protecting the environment".

I've been safe here so far because there is tons of marshland soaking up all the rain and river water. But they keep wanting to concrete over all of that. Then what do they expect - they'll be more flooding. Marshlands are there for a reason. But no, governments are intent on decimating the natural defenses.

I really think they're all completely thick. Not just on this issue. On almost every issue. Possibly every issue.

I'm in Scotland and have only had to put my heating on twice in the last two months

At the moment I'm getting ready , cleaning for guests arriving and I'm in shorts and a tee-shirt

This seems really bizarre to me!

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that 'they' have turned up the temperature following the research papers earlier this year that global warming is a myth.

Have a Good and Happy New Year everyone :)

I popped out to the supermarket earlier for 'supplies' and it wasn't particularly warm or cold outside...just damp as usual.

That's Manchester for you....damp. :D

And the Asda was shut, so I had to pay extortionate rates for my booze at the corner shop.
