After the success of its "soft landing", China's first lunar rover starts its mission to search for natural resources on the Moon.

The rocket carrying the rover blasted off on December 1

China's Jade Rabbit rover has driven out of its space craft to begin exploring the Moon's surface.

The nation's first lunar rover has started its three-month mission to explore the moon in search of natural resources.

China’s state TV channel showed live footage of the Jade Rabbit rover driving down a ramp from its lander and onto the Moon’s surface.

On Saturday, China became the third nation to send a rover to the moon in an operation watched by people all over the world.

It is the first "soft landing" of a probe there for 37 years following the US and former Soviet Union.

A soft landing does not damage the craft and the equipment it takes.

Beijing has now taken a big step towards becoming a global player in space.

Scientists burst into applause as a computer-generated image representing the Chang'e 3 spacecraft carrying the solar-powered robot was seen touching down on the Moon's surface via screens in Beijing.

Saw this on the news sites and saw we didn't have a discussion about it yet.

uk.news.yahoo.com/china-39-39-jade-rabbit-39-lunar-rover-220110585.html#aBVcTCT

Thought it interesting, because China is one of the few places with legends about them already having gone to the moon in pre history that I remember been talked about, well outside of the Clangers and Button Moon that is.

Just waiting for some interesting threads on DIF and other places about this all been a lie etc. Me, I hope it's true and we get some good info back, but i doubt the Chinese will share in the current climate

I have never been interested in what celebrities say, my interest has always been with what people like us here are talking about, so I hadn't watched that video before about the moon. but It interests me because of my background as an artist. If I have the time line right didn't it start to come out when his relationship was breaking up? Could somebody tell me?
That a man who said he understood symbolism should turn against the moon when rejecting his wife would be a very comic piece of psychology. All those feminine charms of the moon goddess, talk about archetypes.

Wow, that is quite sad. And rather unoriginal. Shall we start a few threads lambasting the "greedy heeb jooos" as well? Too late.

Notice I didn't actually make a joke, just kind of implied that there was one "in there". Ya know, a rover. The moon. Lots of space with pretty much zero traffic. I even finished it off with tumbleweed rolling by due to its not-supposed-to-be-funny aspect.

Take the stick out, life's too short to be so cranky.

They're probably not as bad as the French.

You need an armour-plated car in order to survive driving around Paris. How they manage with citroens I just don't know...

Of course not. A 10 foot tall reptoid from the lower fourth dimension took control over your mind and body and typed that post for you. David told me so.

"The truth must be repeated over and over again,
because error is repeatedly preached among us, not
only by individuals, but by the masses. In periodicals
and cyclopaedias, in schools and universities; every-
where, in fact, error prevails, and is quite easy in the
feeling that it has a decided majority on its side."
