Any Formula 1 lovers out here?

I'm not. :chuckle:

But anyway, has anyone seen the Dutch Max Verstappen yet? Started last year in F-1 when he was 17 and now he's racing in the top ranks already:

Come to think of it... why aren't there any black drivers in the F-1?
So we have come together on this day to prove symbolically that we are more than a collection of individuals striving one against another, that none of us is too proud, none of us too high, none is too rich, and none too poor, to stand together before the face of the Lord and of the world in this indissoluble, sworn community. And this united nation, we have need of it.

Come to think of it, here's a REALLY good movie about the rivalry between Niki Lauda vs James Hunt:

RUSH

Never expected to watch a F-1 movie and think it could be that good with all the rubbish coming out nowadays.

Niki Lauda:

James Hunt:

I followed Formula One from the mid-eighties to late nineties.

Drivers I liked were Ayrton Senna (was a fan as a child) and Jean Alesi. Later years were far less interesting than the earlier years when the driver was more important than the computers. Haven't watched a full race since early 2000s.

Great to see young Max is doing so well.

Favourite tracks:
- Spa-Francorchamps (especially with rain)
- Monaco (of course)
- Interlagos, Brazil and Imola, "San Marino" (it's in Italy actually) - the altitude differences make them interesting race tracks

My mother actually aspired to become a race car driver. Never did it in the end.

I love karting, one of the best pastimes, especially in the rain. And I won quite some times. Last time is already 4 years ago now, with a horse grazing right next to the kart track and walking over it when there was no race. :larf:

Ice karting is really cool and can be done in Holland in summer.

Yea, it seems the cars during Senna's period were the most powerful ones.

I've read somewhere that Max Verstappen would not have made it at that young age back in the day, as the cars then were far heavier to steer, control and more G-forces.

You should take a look at the movie I posted above, I guess you won't regret it.
Back in the days of Lauda & Hunt it was 'normal' that a few racers died on the tracks per year.... crazy.

I have seen that movie (of course) and also the movie about Senna, called Senna. Both are very good.

When I got my driver's license, at my exam, I was speeding. The comment of my examinator "You like to keep pace,..., but I like that too. You passed"

Fastest I've done was on the Autobahn with this beautiful beast:

Still my favourite affordable car.

Yep, Alfa Romeo's are nice cars. Heard they're high/expensive maintenace tho.

Altho, the logo is kind of weird.

not much formula 1 on that second link fizzy, though we did talk about LS1's , the worlds most versatile engine these days, best bang for the buck.. even better than the places ent goes.

Maybe we could agree on the fact that my name is PFIZIPFEI, for once, novum?

Interesting comment btw.

Loads of Ecclestone = Eckstein Formula 1 reference ESPECIALLY on the second link.

Funny ... "light hearted banter" --- Ecksteinian Formula1 way

Many auto logos are occulty.

The winged sun disc or horus theme for one is very very prevalent, its just a matter of seeing through the stylizing.

Funny because the winged sun disc is written about as being a transportation vessel.

Pfiz i suppose you missed me and are back for more arguing.. i cant be arsed.. im going to go work on my LS1 now. :usa:

It's not really a surprise that a jew (I suppose fizzy has done her homework) is in the big business that Formula One is... is it? :ponda:

And yes, the corruption is bad. Also clearly the result of crooks entering big businesses.

But does that have to do anything with the sports? Because there is some crooky jew involved, the drivers are suddenly less sportsmen, or what is the relevance?

... I need more firewall grommets, must leave this comedy hour now. :enuf:

:coolio:

PS, i like mercedes benz split turbocharger tech... seperate the turbine (exhaust side) from the compressor (intake side) with a long shaft.. less intercooling needed as the compressor doesnt get as hot.

Now just waiting for someone to make one for an LS1 :larf: :clock:

I only watch pit stop crews on F1.
Youtube has some fantastic footage, they are usually brilliant at what they do and so fast. When it does go tits up which it seldom does that's hilarious.
The actual races I find a bit boring.
