For many years now I have considered myself a "sort of Buddhist" that is to say that what I have learned about it I agree/identify with. I am certain that following the eightfold path will bring enlightenment to me. I have never, until recently meditated or really felt like I could.

A few weeks ago my wife and I went to the Shambala center in Atlanta to get guided instruction in meditation. A sort of introduction into meditation. I think it helped me afterwards despite my realization that my pants(trousers) were way too tight for meditation(and really too tight anyway). I said to myself next week I shall come back and meditate and I shall have it down. Well the following week was my son`s birthday so I had to go to Chuck E Cheese. Then last week we lacked a babysitter and this week looks like car trouble might be the issue. I work six nights a week so that is like working every day because on my day off I am asleep until lunch time. Anyway I am reminded of the quote I assume is authentic. I paraphrase perhaps.

"if you have time you should meditate 30 minutes a day and if you don`t have time then you should meditate an hour."

I wish I had more time to just be. I think we could all use that. I hope to meet some more like minded people by going to the Shambala temple. We shall see.

I actually got some but have yet to wear them to meditation as I have failed to make it back. I do however wear them every other chance I get. I am a changed man.

Part of breaking free from the chains, especially in combination. :wissl:
