The exact origins of Voodoo are unknown, though it is generally agreed that Voodoo has its roots in West Africa. Voodoo does not originate from the Caribbean or from Haiti, as some suggest, though followers can be found throughout most of the Caribbean.

The Benin region in West Africa is regarded by many as the birth place of the Voodoo religion. The name ‘Voodoo’ itself means 'spirit' in the local language. It has also been suggested that Voodoo in West Africa evolved from the ancient traditions of ancestor worship and animism?

Its been superseded by Islam and Christianity, although its still widely practiced across a lot of Africa in various forms. Even in individual countries the split between Islam, Christianity and voodoo or pagan worship can be very stark.

I would tend to agree with you there. I hear there's a saying in Haiti.. ''Haiti is 90% Roman Catholic, and 100% Voodoo.'' Voodoo has both a good side, and a dark side.

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. – Marcus Aurelius

Talking about VOODO may save our European countries?

I'd rather think (and I mean "think") this is distraction of the lowest kind.

I am sorry, Norse Bear, I was a bit oversensitive, because sometimes the situation on TZ is quite annoying.

Once there was an expert on TZ, a friend of gaia, who went by the name of "Papa Legba":

I attended a Voodoo ceremony at a pagan art and movie weekend in Islington which I crashed.

I've written about it here:

Weaponised Satanic art and trendy London Voodoo

Voodoo is spirit possession by what you are told are your ancestors. They help you out in your life in return you allow them to possess you.

Its a pretty powerful way to make a strong impression upon the subconscious mind if you ask me.

Thats what its all about ''fooling'' your subconscious mind.

What do you think the doll is for ? the ritual ? the ceremony ? the prayers ? the funny costumes ? Its all about using your conscious mind to force something in to your subconscious mind so that it may be birthed in to the physical ,just like the act of sex.

The conscious mind is outward going thus like the male phallus ,The subconscious takes inwards ,like the female vagina ,When the phallus''conscious mind'' thrusts the vagina ''subconscious mind'' a child is born.

People will eventually come to know the science of the inner senses ,either by consent from the current ''powers'' or force.

The unconscious mind ''The unknowable'' Where everything past present and future ''OOO'' is being stored ,can just like the conscious mind and subconscious mind ,be known

Make the subconscious and the unconscious ,conscious ,That is the meaning of life ,To master it.
The wisdom of my soul is out of this world

*Until now*

In Cuba, west of Haiti, the local version of "voodoo" is Santería, rituals and ceremonies take place in what is known as a house-temple or casa de santos (house of saints), also known as an ilé.

In one of the home stays I was in, in Trinidad (great city and ironic name), I stayed with a woman who performed Santería. She had a "voodoo-like" shrine in her house. As far as I understood it, it is not as dark as voodoo, but certainly has elements of it, as it comes from the same region in West Africa.

I knew a girl who did the Ouija board. She's quite famous in punk rock/ hard core circles but I met her in London, she told me that ever since doing the Ouija board she says there is always someone or something with her when she's alone in the dark.
