My mom doesn’t like Israel or Israelis. But it is a complicated place. Many Israelis are the rudest, most obnoxious people you’d ever want to meet. And many are the nicest, warmest, most generous people you’d ever want to meet. And sometimes it’s the same person! This is the stereotype of the Israeli “Sabra” (a type of cactus): tough and prickly on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside. Of course some of the assholes are assholes through and through, and often the sweet people are sweet on the outside, too. But the default is a kind of tough, no-nonsense, world-weary demeanor.

I have found that people here are often weary of strangers, which can come with rudeness or simply lack of Western “niceties.” But once you are introduced to them, especially if you are a friend of a friend, then they will instantly become like a different person. They dismiss as superficial the kind of “friendliness towards strangers” attitude that is much more common in, say, the U.S.. I say, give me superficial politeness and friendliness over shortness and rudeness any day. You know that song, “If you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you”? Here I liked to say “If you’re smiling, everyone wonders what’s wrong with you.”

It has been said that Israel is a place where every day 6 million Jews wake up and try to screw each other over. There is something to that, and people over time develop a tough exterior. There is a kind of expectation that people are trying to screw you over or take advantage of you, so people kind of adopt a kind of wary and tough demeanor. Also people here are very pushy, and you have to be pushy back in order to make sure you’re not inconvenienced by other people’s pushiness (like cutting in line). I have struggled with being pushy when needed without letting it become part of who I am. Don’t want the mask to stick.

What you observed isn’t just via the army, though I don’t mean to diminish the effect that the army has on people. The effect of the military is very deep and goes far beyond people’s individual service. Israel is an unbelievably militarized country, with the military being much more central to people’s lives here. I remember when we moved here, my 5-year-old went to kindergarten, and they were already talking with them about what they were going to do when they were in the army. I was shocked and appalled!

And yes, they are one of the most brainwashed people you could imagine. The Zionist project involved taking a bunch of nebbishy Jews and turning them into modern-day Spartans. It was an incredible feat of social engineering and has been incredibly successful.

When in Israel, the orthodox jews were not really harmful, they stick to their own group and don't bother others. Yes, they bother the ridiculous "laws" there are no buses on Saturday (Sabbath), but still.

This militaristic jew attitude is very akin to the NSDAP (NaZionist) attitude, hence the very much to-the-point avatar of porridge.

It's a statist, ethnical militaristic bullshit "ideology" that is somehow successful, only because of massive brainwashing.

The Zionists take Judaism just like the Nazists took "paganism"; as a tool to be able to control the people.

And, man, they did. And do.

Jews Are Not a Race But Jewish Identity is Racist

We were informed this week that the four major female founders of the Ashkenazis show roots in Europe 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. So do most of the minor founders, the study found. Only 8% of the mitochondrial DNA shows signs of being from the Near East.

Gil Atzmon, of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, who led the research, argued that there had been some evidence of mass conversions, especially of women, to Judaism throughout the Mediterranean in the past. That resulted in about 6 million citizens, or a tenth of the Roman population, who were Jewish.

The practical meaning of this information is simple and far from being new. Ashkenazi Jews are not Semitic and have no roots in Palestine. Needless to say that neither Alan Dershowitz nor Max Blumenthal or myself look particularly oriental. So if Jews are neither a race nor Semitic what is it that bonds them together? The answer is an extreme form of tribal ethnocentrism AKA racism. In short, Jews are not a race but Jewish secular culture is racist to the bone.

Both Zionists and the so-called ‘anti’ are operating within ethnocentric and racially exclusive cells. Israel is the Jews-only State, but it opponents the JVP, IJAB, Jewish Socialist Group etc. are similarly Jews-only political gatherings.

But if Jewish politics is racist, exclusive and often abusive, what exactly legitimizes its anti-racist mantra?

A leading ultra-Orthodox Israeli newspaper declared this week that Israel is responsible for anti-Semitism throughout the world. Yated Ne’eman wrote, “The State of Israel, which was established to solve the problem of anti-Semitism, has become the main cause of anti-Semitism. The Jews of the world are suffering not because of their religion, but because of the State of Israel and its policies!”

With regard to the statement by former London Mayor Ken Livingstone, who was suspended from the British Labour Party for saying Hitler “supported Zionism, before he went mad and ended up killing 6 million Jews,” the daily, which belongs to the Lithuanian (non-Hasidic) branch of ultra-Orthodoxy, stated, “It is terrifying that blood-soaked Europe is once again proving that its land has not yet covered the blood of the holy martyrs.”

But the conflating of the interests of Zionism and the Nazis, mainly for propaganda purposes, didn’t begin with Livingstone. Had he wanted, the Labour Party member could have called upon some Jewish sources – even ultra-Orthodox ones – which at the time thought Hitler’s actions were making an indirect contribution to the Zionist movement.

For example, Dos Yiddishe Tagblatt – a Polish-Jewish newspaper identified with the ultra-Orthodox community – reported in 1935 (after the Nuremberg Race Laws were passed) about a “session of the Reichstag in Nuremberg and speeches by Hitler and Göring.” The article’s subhead noted that with the Nuremberg laws “Hitler made the Zionist flag kosher.” It was referring to the fact that the Jews had been banned from raising the German flag, but were allowed only to raise a flag “in Jewish colors.”

That headline was found in the National Library in Jerusalem recently by Dr. Hanan Itzhaki, the rabbi of Efrata College in Jerusalem. He was doing research for a lecture on the 70th anniversary of the passing of the Nuremberg laws. Itzhaki collected headlines from Poland and Germany, including responses of confusion or exploitation of the events for anti-Zionist propaganda.

He found, for example, that Der Israelit – the German-language newspaper of Agudath Israel – negated the existence of a “Jewish flag” (i.e., Zionist flag). At the same time, it responded with some sympathy to the race laws because they contributed to the Orthodox effort to increase separatism and prevent intermarriage.

According to Itzhaki, as opposed to other newspapers in Poland (and like the German newspaper), Dos Yiddishe Tagblatt didn’t protest the Nuremberg Race Laws.

“All the Jews at the time were already suffering from Hitler, and of course they didn’t like him. But the race laws didn’t shock Haredi [ultra-Orthodox] society at first; perhaps the contrary. After all, the thing that threatens them most is assimilation,” said Itzhaki. He added that the use of the term “kosher” was not an accident. It was intended, he said, to goad the Zionists and to tell them, “Look who your rabbi is. Look who the man is who makes you kosher.”
