Is it just me or did September come and go in the blink of an eye? :chuckle:

Is time speeding up? :O

Maybe it's down to my slightly unorthodox sleeping patterns though :D

(Yeah I realise it's still September) :emb:

I think this has possibly been the "fastest" month of my life.

My uncle years ago said to me "as you get older, time speeds up". Maybe it's just that.

Maybe it's the thing Icke and others talk about...creation speeding up, we're at the end of an eon or whatever.

Anyway, I want to lighten up more :D I've been far too existential recently. I've just got to chill out about things and get on with keeping myself busy in more constructive ways :D

I don't know about September, but what I do know is, the shops are filling up with Christmas stock already.
I hate the fact that it's right in your face months before the actual event and for people without a lot of money, who want to give their families a good time...the pressure has already started.

Christmas...bah humbug :chuckle:
I would enjoy Christmas a lot more phe if it was less about consumerism and buying expensive presents, and more about getting together with the people you love and having a nice time with them.

I have no kids or grandkids so I don't feel the pressure, but I feel sorry for parents and grandparents who aren't in a great financial position and feel pressured into buying stuff...I mean these days if you don't buy your kid the latest £300 phone or laptop or whatever, you've sort of failed as a parent or something :( it's a shite state of affairs.

I've just decided to enjoy Christmas this year :chuckle: I'm not exactly religious, but still, I'm going to go for it :D

The shopping channel QVC have a show in July called "Christmas in July" ffs  They sell crappy ornaments and other shite, snowmen and that, it sickens me.

hey you know when you are a kid of 5 years old for eg, 1 month time is 1/60th of your life. but at 30 yrs its only a 1/360th. thats 6x less cos you're 6x older.
I want to rock n roll all night, and part of every day.

yeah 1/360 is less than 1/60

a month when you are 5 years old is 1.7% of your life
but if you are 30 it is 0.27%

as you get older each month is worth less and less of your entire life
but then you are closer to dying so each month is worth more and more of your time because its more precious

i dunno.. carpe diem

You're right DG :D 2012 has been unfolding rather rapidly.

Hopefully 2013 will be a little bit slower :D

That was prolifically and philosophically mathematical. :)

The old man came into my office Monday morning to place an ad. He was writing a check to pay and asked for the date, I told him it was October 1st and remarked how quickly time was flying.

He said time seems to fly when we get older because time is precious; time is precious because life is short, and if we lived for hundreds of years then we wouldn't appreciate life and be the worst procrastinators.

He said he heard that somewhere and it struck him. Now it has struck me. I hope, in the best of ways, it strikes you all. :)

I hate to waste money, even though I am an office worker and the upper admins complain that I have a 21 year old, well oxidized, truck and wear the same five outfits every week but, I think, I might....maybe.....but doubtfully....fantasize about checking into a hotel for Christmas just to get away from it for once on my life.

Sure, sure, I say I'll do it, but reality and practicality dictates otherwise. I want to save my money so I can have my own place someday.

Still, a nice, cheap dream.

You mentioned christmas in october :spank: :spank: :spank: bad Coco :D

It'll be on us before we know it tho unfortunately.

The supermarkets will no doubt have their christmas displays up later this week, as soon as they have taken the halloween ones down...the bastards.

I'm putting a 'Sod Off' sign up for Santa's sleigh this year. Bah! Humbug! Other half's calculated how much in overtime he's been ripped off, because he gets paid that a month in arrears, it comes to just under £7,500 gross for the 2 months. Great timing when I've been on sick pay for months too.

Christmas is a time of stress!

Where did October go?

:conf:
"The truth must be repeated over and over again,
because error is repeatedly preached among us, not
only by individuals, but by the masses. In periodicals
and cyclopaedias, in schools and universities; every-
where, in fact, error prevails, and is quite easy in the
feeling that it has a decided majority on its side."
