I just realised that November is here - maybe to stay for a while?
"The truth must be repeated over and over again,
because error is repeatedly preached among us, not
only by individuals, but by the masses. In periodicals
and cyclopaedias, in schools and universities; every-
where, in fact, error prevails, and is quite easy in the
feeling that it has a decided majority on its side."

I'm putting a 'Sod Off' sign up for Santa's sleigh this year. Bah! Humbug! Other half's calculated how much in overtime he's been ripped off, because he gets paid that a month in arrears, it comes to just under £7,500 gross for the 2 months. Great timing when I've been on sick pay for months too.

Christmas is a time of stress!

Sorry, DG. :(

It's only a time of stress if doey eyed childrens are looking at you with their doey eyes, and your husband is the expecting sort and your most intimate parent insists that you must do Christmas because you simply must because that's the way it is....you just have to.

Luckily, the doey eyed nieces and nephews are grown now and have doey eyed childrens of their own, but the insistent, very close female relative who bore me still insists that you have to have a grand dinner prepared for days and presents and decorations and such DAMMIT!

Fortunately, the kitchen faucet is leaking and no one is doing anything about it, so I see a fine C-word present this year.

You don't think I'll do that? Oh yes I will.

Sorry, DG. :(

Well my son is now a man (if you can call being a clueless 19 yr old grown-up that is... ) so fortunately I no longer have to go through the pretence of being festive and jolly when woken up at 4am on christmas morning to open presents.

These days I just hurriedly bang the christmas tree up on xmas eve and give the lad a small gift and plenty of cash. Then on the big day itself we have a lie-in then amble round to my mums for a lovely dinner that I haven't had to cook....all good :D

Coco - if I was anywhere near you I'd pop round and fix that leaky tap for ya ;)

Christmas can be great if you're happy, or shit if you're sad. Or meh if you're indifferent :chuckle:

It all depends on who you spend it with I suppose.

I'll shut up or I'll end up all angsty and shit :D
