*Watches tumbleweed blow past*

Has anyone been experiencing technical problems with the site btw?

Apparently it re-set itself or something yesterday, wiping posts off that had recently been made.

Novum....take a look out back when you get in would you? Frog ain't about atm.

I haven't finished the painting in the house yet; and I haven't even touched the mad front garden.... but I've gone and got myself TWO allotments from the local Town Council. And I HATE gardening! Maybe my mental health has been worse affected than I realised?

Do you think we reach a stage, after being on conspiracy sites for a few years, where we can't really be bothered with it so much any more?

I still take interest in a lot of stuff going on, but don't seem to feel like posting very much, apart from daft, light-hearted stuff. I think it's conspiracy fatigue.

You have a point Gilly...although I've pretty much always posted daft light hearted stuff :chuckle:

I didn't really get deep into the conspiracy stuff. For me, it's mainly about the interaction...and existential musings :emb:

Conspiracy fatigue - like it :D

Seriously...a question/topic deserving of a thread of its own...

I think people DO get disillusioned with the whole conspiracy scene after a while, for various reasons.

Some sites are obviously a cynical 'business enterprise' - there to make money for someone or other (I need not mention names surely lol)...and who can be expected to carry on believing in that once they have seen it for what it is?

Others are perhaps too 'serious'...its all conspiracy and no room for anything else. Which can be somewhat depressing :hahano:

TZ aims to be different....there is room for everything here, and it will NEVER become a business/profit-making exercise for anyone. ;)

Dear lord, we've got ourselves a CROWD in here now. :O

:D

I never went too far into conspiracy theories, tbh. I found it depressing and somehow couldn't bring myself to write off whole swathes of humanity as "sheep" and thickoes. More like disheartened and tired, or just plain apathetic until something hits them directly. But I find myself more and more involving in only the lighter threads.

To be honest, Cantata, I've always loathed this arrogance, perpetuated, if not instigated by DI, that leads some folk to consider themselves so superior in intellect that they can call others sheep, for not sharing their interests or beliefs.

And it goes further than that too. Within this group of enquiring minds, there are always plenty who know everything, and consider other members worthy of scathing ridicule for suggesting anything that falls outside their perception of what the truth is.

They know there is/isn't a God; there are/are not chem trails spread with the purpose of depopulating etc etc etc.

So I must just be really stupid, 'cause I've been reading up on this stuff for years, and I 'know' very little for certain. :D

It can make people guarded about what they say.

Agreed, Gilly. For a lot of Conspiracy Theorists, it seems to be that the more uneducated about matters some people are, the more lost or "brainwashed" or even "MK'd".... the more they are to be jeered, sneered and thrown aside. And this, while the Theorisits swallow some of the more ridiculous theories because this person or that person told them to. Witness David Icke and his playing of The King's Clothes: his theories are all based on what someone/everyone else told him; but he can make renown and money out of this so he expounds it all; and those who do not see what he means/tells them are merely bleating sheep. :conf:

Ultimately, you're right: we know diddly squat for real. And every time physics, medicine or quantum think They've Got It, something happens to show them Oh No They Haven't.

It would be very hard for a REAL Truth Teller to speak out nowadays.... imagine Jesus walking about today - he'd be no safer or better respected than he was back then. Nuffin's really changed at all. I think Conspiratorists just enjoy The Dark Adventure.

:)

*That said, I've started a thread in General called "New Trticks" about a possible conspiracy/revelation/joke on Joe Public in a popular t.v. show. :D It's in General, 17th in line behind the "Guest" spammers. :D *

:D Cool. I'll go & take a gander.

Yeah, I'm not saying there isn't shit going on, it's just that there's so much misinformation, deliberate & otherwise, that it's really not possible to know for sure, most of the time, who's for real & who's taking the piss.

Even when I've read something that's presented really convincingly & logically, that 'resonates' as being true, odds are, I'll eventually find something just as convincing that repudiates it, and then it's back to square 1.

Plus, I actually have to curb myself now from going for the jugular when people come across as condescending know-it-alls. It winds me up.

Yes....on certain forums, disagreeing with certain people gets you instantly labelled a 'shill'.

That has always bugged the hell out of me :rl:
