Der Sturm.
Schindler's List (1993) That's Oskar Schindler HD.

The Piano Sonata No. 17. in D minor, Op. 31, No. 2, was composed in 1801–02 by Ludwig van Beethoven. . It is usually referred to as "The Tempest" ( or Der Sturm in his native German), but the sonata was not given this title by Beet, hoven or indeed referred to as such during his lifetime. We barely know each other.
Glenn Gould - Beetehoven, Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor op. 31/2.

Schindler moved to Vienn in 1813 to study law, and from 1817 to 1822 was a clerk in a law office there. He was a competent, though not an exceptional violinist, and played in various musical ensembles, first meeting Beethoven in 1814. He gave up his law career, becoming in 1822 first violinist at the Theater in der Josefstadt, and from 1825 first violinist at the Theater am Kärntnertor. His acquaintance with Beethoven continued, and from 1822, he lived in the composer's house, as his unpaid secretary - Why do think Ziegler invites us to these things every year?.

On 17 June, Fury escorted Home Fleet units to reinforce the Mediterranean Fleet for the Sicily landings - At 10:38 on the morning of 21 June, Fury detonated a ground mine off Juno Beach during a gale and the navy decided to tow her into the British Mulberry harbour at Arromanches where her damage could be evaluated. The Dutch tug Thames began towing the ship at 13:25; at 21:14, Fury accidentally collided with the stern of a freighter anchored outside the Mulberry, damaging her port side above the waterline, and the towline snapped at 21:49 when she struck another ship several times. She let go her anchor after drifting clear, but it almost immediately started dragging under the pressure of the wind and waves and the salvage ship Lincoln Salvor was secured alongside to steady Fury. Another tug made a towline fast at 22:18, but it immediately snapped when the tug began to pull forward. Lincoln Salvor had to cast off as her wooden hull was being damaged by slamming into Fury's hull and six other tugboats attempted to tow the destroyer clear of the shipping in the Mulberry, but they all failed. HMS Scylla was a Dido-class cruiser of the Royal Navy. One of two sisters (the other was, appropriately, Charybdis, see Scylla and Charybdis), Scylla was completed with four twin QF 4.5 in Mk.III in UD MK III mountings because of a shortage of the intended QF 5.25 inch gun mountings. In July 1943 she stopped the Arklow schooner Mary B Mitchell in the Bay of Biscay. On 23 June 1944 Scylla was badly damaged by a mine and declared a constructive total loss. Although towed to Portsmouth, she was not disposed of until 1950, after use as a target between 1948 and 1950. She arrived at Thos W Ward, (Barrow-in-Furness, UK) on 4 May 1950 for breaking up.

The idiom "between Scylla and Charybdis" has come to mean being forced to choose between two similarly dangerous situations "on the horns of a dilemma", "between the devil and the deep blue sea", and "between a rock and a hard place" express similar meanings.

Play Mistel for me.

ECMWF simulations have helped to explain how a fierce storm in June 1944 destroyed one of two harbours built to support the Allied invasion of northern France in World War II. Exceptionally high waves driven by gale-force north-easterly winds destroyed Mulberry A at Omaha Beach. Mulberry B at Arromanches was damaged but survived. Mulberry B went on to play a key role in the delivery of soldiers, vehicles and supplies to northern - Hitler ordered all but one division of the German LIII Korps, encircled near Vitebsk, to break out. On the Normandy front the Germans deployed a new weapon—the unmanned Mistel aircraft - The Adelaide Mail in Australia published an article revealing that Ern Malley, supposedly a poet who had died as a complete unknown in 1943 but whose poems had recently been pub lished in the avant-garde magazine Angry Penguins to great acclaim, never existed at all. But I think, "Bind me tie me, Chain me to the wall I wanna be a slave - The British cargo ship Derrycunihy (1943 =17) was sunk off Normandy with great loss of life by a Luftwaffe acoustic mine - On May 3, 1995, a team of Americans led by Paul Tidwell that chart er the Russian research vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldyshy using a MAK-1M side scan sonar and located the I-52 (Draught: 5.12 m(17 ft) virtually intact at a depth of 17,000' roughly 1,200 miles west of the Cape Verde islands.

Oberleutnant zur See Vulkan.

Lucha Reyes - La Tequilera + General Collins & Mayor.

Have I ever mentioned you play a very irritating game of chess, Mr. Spock? - Guadalajara is well connected by modern highways to Mexico City, to the northwest and to the major beach resorts of Manzanillo, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta - German submarine U-269 was depth charged and sunk southeast of Torquay by British frigate Bickerton. The first attack knocked out all the lights aboard the U-boat, while the second ruptured the seals on the drive shafts, allowing water to rush in. The frigate's third depth charge run destroyed pipes, valves and electrical connections. The U-boat began to sink immediately, while the survivors swam away or escaped on rafts. Bickerton picked up the 39 survivors. There were 13 dead, including Captain Uhl. U-269 took part in 3 wolfpacks, this was confirmed by nautical archaeologist Innes McCartney. During World War II Torquay was regarded as safer than the towns of South East England, and played host to evacuees from the London area. I really learned it all from mothers.

Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard Inc. - Commissioned: 17 October 1943.

Don't take too seriously all that the neighbors say - 25 June 1944 saw the Allies launch an attack against Fort du Roule, which sat on a rocky hill overlooking Cherbourg. The first fortifications were built in 1793 to protect the Bay of Cherbourg from English attacks. The current fort, at the top of the mountain, was built between 1853 and 1857 under Napoleon III. During the Second World War, the Todt Organisation (OT) built several tunnels, installed casemates for artillery, and built gun emplacements. Fritz Todt died in an airplane crash on 8 February 1942, soon after a meeting with Hitler in East Prussia. A centralized organization of the OT was created when Speer became Reichsminister - The Battle of Osuchy began near Osuchy, Poland between Nazi German and Polish resistance forces. The partisans were exhausted, pushed into a swampy area, 6 by 4 km, between the Tanew and Sopot rivers. The commander of the remaining partisans, Mjr. Markiewicz, suffered a nervous breakdown, transferred his command to Rotmistrz Mieczysław Rakoczy "Miecz", and committed suicide - The action of Tali-Ihantala started at 0630 with a Soviet one-hour heavy artillery bombardment and air attack, followed by a major Soviet offensive from Tali village at 0730. The Soviets also attacked with the 178th Division over the Saarela Strait. The Finns were able to organize a counterattack with the reserves of the 18th Division, parts of the 17th Division, and some battle groups from the 4th Division - Ah, yes. One of your Earth emotions.
