Why do men see the need to officiate constantly?

I'm male myself but am not interested in officiating. It's as if all men see themselves as self-appointed pillars of society in a hierarchy which they expect other men to adhere. Well no, I don't recognise your hierarchy. I don't like you and I didn't ask for your attention.
