When the missionaries tried to hire boatman John Rambo to take them up river to deliver medications to the indiginous peoples they pleaded with a reluctant John and insisted they were there to make a difference. Then Rambo asks if they are bringing in weapons and if they are not they will change nothing.
Truth be told they were carrying in weapons, the medications and vax. Poor people were killed and maimed by their corrupt government troops and also assaulted by big pharma through the 'missionaries' and via dangerous meds.
Of course bandages and pain killers and expert surgical skills are always welcome to alleviate the suffering but once these fanatics take root you can expect the indiginous people will become human pincushions in record time. Rambo should have shot the missionaries and called it a day. The short term relief they could provide would end in sterilization and chronic disease. Not worth it.
